The new Xbox gaming consoles allow gamers to play in a “Netflix-style ecosystem.” This week, avid gamers will finally be able to get their hands on a new pair of Xbox gaming consoles: the Xbox Series X and budget-friendly Xbox Series S. They also come with a new feature: Both are designed to be “hubs in a Netflix-style ecosystem” where players can pay a monthly fee to play “just about anything, anywhere—for better or for worse.” Previously, the video game world has “largely resisted” streaming media, but Microsoft is taking the leap. Xbox Game Pass makes the “unusual commitment to making games from its prior console libraries available,” and users can finance the new consoles as part of the plan.(Vulture)
