Allbirds is getting into the eco-friendly clothing business.

Allbirds is getting into the eco-friendly clothing business. We told you fashion brands are launching sustainable initiatives to reach young consumers, and footwear brand Allbirds is joining the fray, adding eco-friendly clothing to their offerings. Known for their sustainable sneakers made from merino wool and sugarcane waste, the brand is launching Allbirds Apparel for men and women, and it features a shirt made from “XO” material—a fiber made from crab shells, or the “discarded shells of marine life.” The limited (for now) collection also includes sweaters made from “responsibly sourced” merino wool, and puffer jackets made from a blend of merino wool, recycled polyester, and Tencel (a fiber harvested from natural materials).
