Aerie established their large TikTok following in just two weeks. When the apparel brand was forced to close all physical retail locations, they went all in on TikTok to connect with their “heavily Gen Z [audience].” Their sponsored hashtag #AerieRealPositivity (which has received more than 1.3 billion views) tapped the app’s biggest influencer Charli D’Amelio to kick it off with a video that has received 22 million views. In the weeks since, the brand has garnered more than 17.6K followers. While many brands have been dabbling in TikTok over the last several weeks, Aerie is one of the few fashion companies to put money behind a paid campaign. (Glossy)
