TikTok has emerged as the breakout social media platform of the COVID crisis. All over the world, cooped up teens have flocked to the app to keep themselves entertained—and according to DataTrek Research, it’s seen the biggest surge on Google search in the last 90 days over other social networks like Facebook, Snapchat, and Twitter. TikTok saw massive growth among Gen Z in the last year, even before the pandemic and YPulse’s most recent data shows that it has grown more than any other platform during the quarantines.
