TikTok’s owner is testing a new music app to try for another global hit. Resso a the music streaming platform that lets users read lyrics in real-time while listening to music, and leave comments under individual songs. It’s only being tested in India and Indonesia for now, and has been downloaded by a small number of consumers, but is a clear sign that ByteDance is experimenting with ways to “challenge the likes of Spotify and Apple Music.” Because TikTok was the social platform to watch this year, breaking into the music streaming world could be the next big thing to watch for.
