Interns as young as 12 are canvassing for support for Millennial politician Josh Lafazan.

Interns as young as 12 are canvassing for support for Millennial politician Josh Lafazan. Lafazan is part of the Nassau County Legislature and counts on a team of 75 12-22-year-old interns to knock on neighbors’ doors and rally the Long Island community into acting on issues that affect young people. One 16-year-old team member explains why she and other young people are getting more politically involved: “Parkland was a real wake-up call that young people were the ones that were going to have to do something to make a change. That’s what sparked me to realize that I was the perfect age to start getting involved.” (NYT)
