Mattel’s newest dolls aren’t defined by gender norms. The Creatable World line lets the Genreless Generation customize dolls by mixing and matching clothing and appearance options. For example, a doll can have short hair and wear a skirt or long hair and wear pants, flipping the traditional gender aesthetics that toys often reinforce. The six doll kits come in a variety of skin tones, and Mattel says that, “Depending on how this is received, we can take key learnings from the range and infuse them across other lines.” (Kidscreen)
