A new study links teens’ social media use with depressive symptoms. Research published in JAMA Pediatrics found that high social media use over four years was tied to increased depression in seventh-to-eleventh-graders. In addition, the more social media the students used, the more severe their depressive symptoms were. Meanwhile, high amounts of screen time were also linked with increased depression, but incremental increases had no effect on the severity of the symptoms. (CNN)
