Chevy’s “teen driver mode” won’t start the car until the driver buckles up. Several of the automakers’ 2020 models will come complete with a “Teen Driver” package that allow parents to set alerts that monitor their teens’ speed, receive “report cards” about their driving habits, and more. The seatbelt feature only keeps the car from moving for about twenty seconds, but the Highway Loss Data Institute found that was long enough to increase seat belt use by 16%. (NPR)
