Twenty-seven percent of teens have received a sext message, and over one in seven have sent one—according to a new report from JAMA Pediatrics. What’s more worrisome is that about 8% of 12-17-year-olds had sexts passed on without their consent, while 12% had passed along the content without asking. The report analyzed 39 studies to find that those who were interviewed more recently were more likely to have sent or receive sexual content—meaning the trend is on the rise among young people.
