Social media is the top news source for young Millennials, helping it edge out newspapers among Americans overall for the first time. According to the Pew Research Center, 20% of U.S. adults and 36% of 18-29-year-olds turn to social media for news. And while TV still dominates for older demos, just 16% of 18-29-year-olds are tuning in. A Pew researcher adds that young demos are unique because “No more than half of those ages 18 to 29 and 30 to 49 get news often from any one news platform.” (TechCrunch)
