According to a study published in JAMA Pediatrics, U.S. states that implemented same-sex marriage policies saw a reported 7% relative reduction in the proportion of high school students attempting suicide afterwards. For LGB teens, there was a 14% decline—equaling about 134,000 fewer adolescents attempting suicide in the U.S each year.
