The educational applications for the influential game Minecraft are growing. Microsoft has released their planned educational version of the uber-popular game as part of its new Windows suite. “Minecraft: Education Edition” will come with code building gameplay and a chat feature for students to coordinate with classmates. Microsoft is hoping the creative game will get boys and girls interested in STEM careers and teach them useful skills for the careers of the future—65% of which they estimate don’t even exist yet.
