Back-to-school retail sales are expected to grow four percent in the 2017 season, according to eMarketer. Last year already reached a record high, and this July/August is estimated to accrue 17% of retail’s total sales for 2017. Ypulse data shows 63% of college students and 37% of middle/high school students did at least some of their back-to-school shopping online, so it should come as no surprise that e-commerce is growing even faster than overall retail—it’s expected to jump nearly 15% this year.
