One El Salvador hotel is trying to overcome the country’s “bad rap” with Instagrammable design and “experience-led” offerings at the far-flung locale, tapping into three Millennial travel trends. Despite El Salvador’s status as 134 out of 136 countries in the U.S. State Department’s “Safety and Security” category, Puro Surf Hotel thinks it can attract lifestyle travelers with surf school, yoga sessions, volunteer trips, and tours of the local culture.
