Prime Video is bringing AI lip syncing to international watches. The new feature is starting with the German show Maxton Hall, which has become their “most-watched international original series to date,” to make it even more foreigner friendly. Traditional dubbing means that what viewers hear and what they see doesn’t line up, but the new tech manipulates the actors’ mouths to suit the dubbed dialogue for a more “seamless” experience. We know that Gen Z is a borderless gen when it comes to entertainment, and they already happily trade TV shows across regions. However, YPulse data does show European-made titles rarely make it into North American Gen Z’s favorites, while American shows often cross into Europeans’, so features like this may boost the global appeal of non-English shows further.
