Gen Z’s Halloween obsession is spilling into their candy habits. According to a new report from Mars, 76% of Gen Z say they’d buy Halloween candy year-round, compared to 66% of U.S. adults overall. They’re already known for getting a head start on spooky season: Gen Z’s anticipation in Summerween has jumped 63% from last year, with participation now more than double that of the general population. Plus, Gen Z is also among the most likely to plan and shop for Halloween early. But it’s not just about having candy around—they’re using it to show a little personality, too. More than 70% of adults say their candy selections reflect who they are as a host, while 71% of adults say texture matters in their treats and nearly 60% are looking for “extreme flavors.” (Retail Dive)
