Millennials and Gen Z grew up with open conversations about finances. A new study by U.S. Bank and Morning Consult shows that Millennials raising Gen Z kids are 27% more likely than Boomers’ parents to discuss money, like housing costs and entertainment spending, with them. Another 62% of Gen Z adults—whose parents are mainly Gen X—say they discussed money in their homes growing up, compared to 49% of Baby Boomers. Even though all gens believe that discussing things like housing costs and household income are more difficult topics to discuss than things like entertainment or vacation spending, this type of financial transparency likely informs how kids think about money and their futures. YPulse data shows that 86% of parents want their children to learn about personal finance management as soon as possible. (The Independent)
