Parents are taking it upon themselves to found skincare brands for tweens. YPulse knows all about Gen Alpha’s obsession with roaming the aisles of Sephora and Ulta for the latest skincare products—even if they’re not made with tween-friendly ingredients. But to make sure the gen has access to ones that are for their young skin, the moms behind Prereq and Saint Crewe prioritized simple, parent-approved products that would fit into an easy routine, while still making tweens feel confident and included in the beauty world. Both have intentionally limited product selections—still with colorful and portable packaging—with clear instructions to ensure kids are not spending their time on multi-step routines. And instead of sending PR packages and launch event invites to influencers, Prereq chose to celebrate with the tweens who tested their products—which is the kind of consumer inclusion YPulse knows Gen Z looks for.
