Spanish Gen Z spend more than 40 hours a month on social media. A new GfK DAM report shows that the average Spaniard spends nearly 27 hours each month on socials, but Gen Z significantly exceeds that—despite the fact that earlier this year, Spain banned social media for under-16-year-olds. And according to the report, Instagram and Facebook take the cake for their top social platforms. (Though YPulse’s Social Media Behavior data shows that WhatsApp, Instagram, and YouTube land on top for Spanish 13-24-year-olds.) YPulse data also shows that 13-24-year-olds in Spain estimate they average three hours on social media per day, and 32% are somewhat / strongly against a social media ban for under-16s.
