Gen Z is taking more financial risks through meme stocks and crypto. Last year, a survey showed that 62% of those 35-and-under said they needed to take big risks to reach their financial goals, like buying viral investments or meme stocks and using borrowed funds. Another study showed that 80% of Gen Z are interested in speculative investments because they feel behind financially, and it feels like they need to take risks to catch up.
