EXTRA gum wants British Gen Z to stop overthinking. In a wild piece of research, the brand investigated the impact of the moon on Gen Z and found they’re stressing about communication missteps. Whether they’ve re-read a text before sending (65%) to see if it might come off cringe or intentionally waiting to reply—which a whopping 86% do—they’re in their heads about being social. Young Brits were even more likely than older gens to say the full moon had them feeling extra careful about what they say and do. (Though, apparently, 46% of Gen Z have “blamed the moon for their behaviour.”) The brand hosted a pop-up in Manchester for the first full moon where young people could anonymously share what they overthink about, and hopefully, try to release that stress before the next one.
