Gen Z IT professionals may be becoming over-reliant on AI at work.

Gen Z IT professionals may be becoming over-reliant on AI at work. According to a new study by software company GoTo and Workplace Intelligence, 62% of Gen Z workers in the IT sector admit to using AI as a crutch. Another 40% of young IT and knowledge workers said they cannot get by at work without AI. At the same time, nearly half (46%) of that group admit that relying on AI is making them less intelligent and half feel relying on AI too much will harm future career prospects. With these conflicting feelings, Gen Z is in a tough position. They either have to adopt the tech and risk overreliance and weakened critical thinking, or risk getting left behind if they don’t learn to use itβ€”especially as more employers mandate workers to use AI in their daily workflows.
