Paris jazz clubs are drawing in more Gen Z. Across the city, venues like Caveau de La Huchette, 38Riv, and La Gare-Le Gore are reportedly filling up night after night with young crowds. Many owners and musicians say interest noticeably surged after the pandemic, and it’s likely thanks to the atmosphere itself. These spaces embody the idea of being young, carefree, and slightly off the grid—not so full of phones in the air—tapping into Gen Z’s desire for more “analog” experiences. Ironically though, social media is of course helping fuel jazz clubs’ popularity. Search “Paris Jazz Club” on TikTok and there’ll be countless cinematic videos of dimly lit underground venues paired with captions of Gen Z romanticizing their 20s. That online exposure is now helping expand audiences far beyond Europe and the U.S., turning Paris jazz clubs into global Gen Z bucket list experiences. (Financial Times)
