Apple’s next emoji launch is getting tons of hype—even from brands. The new “distorted face emoji” is a shocked, wide-eyed face that looks like it’s been captured in the perfect Gen Z .5X photo. It most certainly resembles a popular meme of the shocked emoji edited to the same angle, which almost guarantees it will be a hit when it’s official—just how the tired face with eye bags was in 2025. Already, images of it are circulating online saying it’s “About to be most-used emoji in history,” and brands have jumped in, too. KFC tweeted it with the caption, “when your bucket’s empty and ur looking for who ate it.” Wendy’s, of course, posted one too with the caption, “What the fries at the bottom of my biggie bag see when I go scavenging for them.” (Fast Company, Wendy’s X, KFC X)
