Young people are using AI to put themselves in an iconic Scream scene. The new “Ghostface AI” trend has Gen Z using an image generator to recreate moments from the original movie, but with the user in place of the main characters. The most popular prompt is inspired by the iconic scene where the killer creeps up behind Drew Barrymore’s character on a ’90s home phone, pairing it with Rose McGowan’s line “Please don’t kill me Mr. Ghostface, I wanna be in the sequel!” We’ve seen plenty of AI selfie trends go viral before, first with TikTok filters and now with elaborate prompts, but it might be turning into a fandom tool. However, some fans are pushing back and making mock posts without AI, seemingly rejecting bringing AI into their appreciation for the movie. (Mashable)
