Charli XCX fans are not loving the collab Converse they ordered. In promo for the “Party Girl” shoe, the artist showed off distressed sneakers—but fans who sold the collection out don’t feel like theirs look quite the same. When the shoes arrived, they found the “rips” were printed onto the shoe, not actually distressed into the canvas. Some argued that it was clear online and in ads that the rips were prints, and those making posts complaining (and getting tons of views) simply weren’t paying attention. The shoe tapped into a subculture of Charli XCX’s fans who clearly wanted the authentic, messy party girl look—but maybe didn’t commit enough for the super fans living the brat life. (daily dot)
