Across TikTok, college students are racking up millions of views by knocking on random doors for a room tour, launching right in when the door opens. They walk around the unfamiliar space showing viewers beds, closets, snacks, and more as their own, sometimes roasting mess or decorations as they go, all while the actual resident stands by and watches. (Sometimes confused or debating ownership, sometimes playing along.) But now, with it growing so popular, some students appear to know exactly what’s coming when a stranger and camera person barge into the room. While Gen Z is notoriously lauded as too anxious to talk to strangers, this new trend is majorly challenging that.
