Sorority rush videos are “creating entertainment for the masses” for another year. In case anyone needed a reminder that it’s officially back to school season, TikTok is once again filled with clips of young women going through sorority recruitment. Whether they’re posting choreographed dances, outfit hauls, or dramatic bid-day reveals, they’re pulling in millions of views on TikTok. One video posted earlier this month featuring the Zeta Tau Alphas of Georgia Southern University dancing together to Beyoncé’s “Diva” has over 1.2M views. The rush process has turned into full-blown television-level entertainment, and #RushTok has not only made sorority life bigger in the U.S., but it’s also caught the attention of people around the world who can’t get enough of the mix of glam, drama, and over-the-top tradition.
