Managers in San Francisco are coaching their Gen Z employees on workplace etiquette. With sometimes wide value gaps between gens in the current workforce, some employers think there’s a culture clash happening in the office. From country club bosses to tech campus managers, many say that the youngest gen lacks basic etiquette like cleaning up their lunch-messes in communal spaces and wearing appropriate work attire. In turn, some managers in the Bay area have found a solution through hiring “etiquette coaches” for their young employees. These coaches charge clients (including Stanford Research Park and other Big Tech firms) up to $2.5K for 90-minute workshops covering topics like how to make eye contact and how to communicate with their boss. Some coaches report rapidly increasing demand for their workshops, and a few local universities have even started offering workplace etiquette-related classes. (SF Standard)
