Living on their own may seem like an unattainable goal for some Millennials—but they might just need to look at the right cities.

Living on their own may seem like an unattainable goal for some Millennials—but they might just need to look at the right cities. According to Zillow, 15% of Millennials live solo in Richmond, VA—more than any other metro area in the country. Lower rents are of course the biggest reason: while nationally people of all ages are spending 30% of their income on rent, in Richmond it’s typically 26%. Zillow reports that there are many cities in the U.S. that will allow Millennials to “thrive independently,” with “competitive salaries” and “housing expenses [that] won’t eat up the majority of their income.”  (Zillow)
