The wanderlust generation is looking to Instagram to determine their next dream vacation. Tourist companies have realized the power of the visual platform and are turning to influencers to spotlight their locations with filtered and “wanderlust-inducing” photos. New Zealand’s South Island invested in Instagram influencer coverage last year, and saw a 14% rise in overseas visits to one of its small resort towns, and a 7% increase on average to the island.
