Snapchat ads are on track to bring in close to $1 billion dollars next year. The app has experienced a meteoric marketing rise as more brands turn to the platform to reach elusive young users. Their ad revenue is expected to bring in $366.69 million worldwide this year, and reach $935.46 million in 2017. Discover is currently the feature generating the highest portion of revenues, but Stories is expected to surpass it by next year. Presently the platform only “captures 2.3% of social network ad dollars,” and to attract more brands they have “improved [their] targeting capabilities” and partnered with measurement firms.
