There’s fierce competition to be one of young consumers’ favorite apps. According Millward Brown Digital, 43% of smartphone users are using four to six of their 40-70 downloaded apps on a daily basis, and research from Appboy revealed that less than a quarter of mobile app users will return to an app the day after they first use it. So what gets a smartphone user to install in app in the first place? A recent Tune study found that helping to complete a specific task was the number one reason, followed by a friend’s recommendation, and the app looking interesting. (eMarketer)
