Humor, kindness, and bringing back the classics will be the next big trends in children’s books, according to Scholastic. The publisher says that to offset the emotionally exhausting year, more stories that teach the importance of empathy and sharing will be hitting the shelves soon. Based on their recent Kids & Family Reading Report, the most in-demand books will be ones that can make kids “laugh out loud.” They also say literature that reintroduces and reimagines classic stories like Goosebumps and Alice In Wonderland will find success in 2017.
