Researchers are calling on schools to get teens moving. A recent study revealed only 8% of American teens are getting the recommended 60 minutes of exercise per day, with some averaging 39.4 minutes of vigorous physical activity a daily. The lack of exercise can lead to decreased focus, along with diabetes and heart disease, and it falls on schools to keep these issues at bay: 42% of a teenager’s time is spent at school, and only 4.5% of their time at school is dedicated to physical activity.
