Gen Z is bringing Tamagotchis back. YPulse has reported consistently that while Gen Z may not remember the ’90s themselves, nostalgic items from the decade are big with them. The most recent return to the mainstream is Tamagotchis, which have seen global sales doubling from 2022 to 2023. Although the toy was relaunched in 2019 to attract Millennials, it appears to have captivated Gen Z even more. While the original concept remains, it now features updates like friend connectivity, Wi-Fi access, and the ability to download items, successfully (and surprisingly) engaging the younger demographic.
