Meta announced its AI-powered selfie generator “Imagine Me.” The feature is now in beta in the U.S. and allows users to transform their pictures by typing “Imagine Me” followed by a prompt, such as “Imagine me as a superhero” or “Imagine me in Paris.” Like its current image-generating AI, it’s accessible through any of Meta’s chat platforms—Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, or Instagram DMs. And some announcement images seem to be playing along with a recent viral moment where AI images of Mark Zuckerberg himself were deemed “a glow up,” as the promo images show him in buff looks. The company didn’t disclose how the AI was trained, because though artists and photographers have been openly against Meta’s use of any images on its platform, the terms of service make it known they’re up to be used.
