The DINK trend is growing among Millennial and Gen Z women.

May 07 2024

The DINK trend is growing among Millennial and Gen Z women. According to Intuit Credit Karma, 45% of Millennial women are choosing to diverge from traditional societal norms of marriage, homeownership, and starting a family, with 32% expressing a desire to remain childless. Now, young women are aiming to be in DINK (dual income, no kids) partnerships for reasons like pursuing personal interests, financial independence, or prioritizing their careers. And on top of that, preparing for the possibility of having children in the future involves a significant financial burden—which many young people don’t feel equipped for anytime soon. 📊 YPulse data: Only 4% of 18-39-year-olds say starting a family is the biggest personal goal they’re working towards now
