A recent survey found that 44% of 18-24-year-olds are likely to buy a home with a friend. Fairview New Homes reports that “co-ownership among friends and non-married partners” is on the rise. Buying a house with friends has all the same benefits of shared costs and expenses as buying with a significant other, but makes it a much more accessible option for some people—especially young renters who are struggling to buy on their own. But Karen Barrett, founder of Unbiased, suggests having legal agreements and financial agreements in place, because strained relationships could become an issue. (Vice)
