Teens actually want their parents to track them.

Teens actually want their parents to track them. Gen Z teens are increasingly using family location-sharing apps like Life360, Apple’s Find My, and more to feel a sense of security. These apps have seen a surge in downloads since 2021, with Life360 doubling its user base in the U.S., and now many teens use these apps when they drive, go on dates, attend events, or simply keep location sharing on at all times. But while some feel comforted by the connection and safety these apps provide, it may create a false sense of security, especially for parents. Modern parenting practices and constant access to news contribute to youth anxiety, but knowing a child’s location doesn’t necessarily guarantee their safety in case of a disaster. YPulse recently shared how Gen Z even finds it fun to track their friends, too, though, so we can expect this trend will continue. (WSJ)
