Gen Z is more likely to fall victim to online scam than Boomers. The young gen is in fact three times more likely to fall for online scams (including phishing, identity theft, romance scams, and cyberbullying) than Boomers, according to a Deloitte survey. Along these lines, Gen Z also has double the chance of getting their social media hacked than their elders. While it seems counterintuitive that the digitally native gen would be more likely to fall victim to these traps than Boomers, it may have to do with Gen Z’s comfort level with technology “incentivize[ing] them to choose convenience over safety.” (Vox)
