This TikTok creator is making Gen Z care about newspapers. YPulse data shows that more than half of Gen Z say they follow the news, but far more are keeping up through social media than through a print paper. Now, those two things have merged, thanks to 23-year-old Kelsey Russell, who’s racking up tens of thousands of views and followers as she reads The New York Times and The Washington Post stories aloud—with conversational explanations of big topics like international politics.
