Roblox just announced the addition of an artificial intelligence chatbot to its platform. The Roblox Assistant will utilize the technology of generative AI to assist players with building virtual assets and writing code. In a demo of the tool, one prompt was “I want to make a game set in ancient ruins,” and the Roblox Assistant then formed a virtual environment according to the user’s request. The AI chatbot builds assets based on its own “marketplace” or users’ visual asset libraries. While there is anticipation for the integration of this AI, Roblox’s CTO says that Roblox Assistant won’t be available until either the end of this year or the start of next year. YPulse research shows that 95% of Gen Z and Millennials play video games, and 78% are playing weekly or more often. (The Verge)
