Big Four consulting firms now have to train Gen Z employees on soft skills. As a result of the pandemic and experiencing most of their education through Zoom, companies are finding that their younger employees are lacking “soft skills,” otherwise known as communication skills. To combat this issue, the Big Four firms including Deloitte, EY, KPMG and PwC are providing their Gen Z employees with specialized training in “non-verbal communication, storytelling and presentation skills, as well as leadership skills tailored for hybrid working.” This generation differs from those before them because although they excel in the digital aspects of their job, they are lacking the people skills that are vital in careers like consulting. YPulse research shows that interpersonal skills are ranked the third top thing that Gen Z and Millennials wish schools would teach that they aren’t already. (Fortune)
