Young Brits just want to date their coworkers.

Young Brits just want to date their coworkers. Gen Z increasingly prefers the “old” way of finding love: anywhere in real life, not a dating app. And while mutual friends or at uni are common “offline” ways to meet, 14% of Gen Z have reportedly met their partner at work. One sociology professor says that even while a work romance can have its risks, young people prefer this to the cons of dating online, which include high rates of rejection and a feeling of “gamification.” The challenge of dating a coworker is not just the usual issue of being emotionally vulnerable with a new person, but also weighing the risk of awkwardness should they break up. Though, actually, that proximity risk can be a motivator for taking things slow and thinking them through—more relationship-building habits that dating apps aren’t particularly known for. (Dazed)
