Gen Z is having more open conversations about menstruation. While for previous gens, even Millennials with their mums, talking about periods was somewhat taboo, young people arenβt afraid of it on social media. And for the young women driving this change, many are flipping the script and teaching the older women in their life what they know. They also say they plan to be more open about it with their kids from a young age; while many parents want to wait until their child is older, it can mean waiting until after menstruation has already started. Some experts say the fading secrecy around cycles and growing βbody literacyβ is making a big difference, but they do worry about misinformation or inequal access to education. (BBC)
