Gen Z may be back at the movies, but it still has to be worth the trip. Just like YPulse predicted, Gen Z has returned to the moviesβand new research from Conecta Research & Consulting confirms just how strong that return is. Across five European markets, 77% of Gen Z respondents said “they attended the cinema,” putting them ahead of the general population, and among the most frequent moviegoers. But with plenty of other entertainment competing for their attention, Gen Z still weighs whether the experience feels with their time and money. According to the data, the biggest draws remain the things they can only get in theatres, including exclusive content, an immersive experience, and a chance to make the outing something social. When asked what would get them to go to the movies more often, price was a major factor, alongside shorter queues, better food and drink options, and additional amenities that make theatreΒ visits stand out.
