Gen Z is bringing back “grandma watches.” Smart watches have become Gen Z’s norm over traditional timepieces. But for some, the trend is shifting back, and Gen Z women especially are growing more obsessed with tiny, vintage-inspired watches that look more like a dainty bracelet they would find in their grandma’s jewelry box. Even Gen Z stars like Olivia Rodrigo and Lily-Rose Depp have been spotted in them. Part of the appeal is Gen Z’s fixation on analog items that allow them to unplug from the digital world, like landlines, film cameras, and wired headphones—though we know these are all niche individually. And while smart watches that optimize their lives are certainly not completely disappearing any time soon, small vintage watches do fit right into the analog trend. (PureWow)
