Golden-topped Jersey milk is making a comeback thanks to British Gen Z. (And we kind of called it!) More young shoppers are trading in their semi-skimmed for the full-bodied stuff, and supermarkets are seeing the effect. Tesco sold 3M more liters last year than in 2023, while Ocado reports sales were over 200% higher in February compared to the same time in 2025. And it’s not just Jersey milk these young shoppers are after: Tesco says butter sales are up 12% and whole milk is up 4%, showing young consumers are leaning into all kinds of richer dairy options. (Which we told you would happen!) The reasons are part health, part hype: Gen Z shoppers are drawn to milk for the calcium, taste, and of course, protein. But social media has also played a huge role in fueling this revival. Creators like Lewis Welsh urged his 920K followers to “only buy” Jersey milk, while another racked up nearly 80K likes on a TikTok recommending gold-top milk exclusively. (The Times)
🔮 YPulse predicted: 2026 is the year that Gen Z splurges on what’s in their fridge (including butter!)
